Mandatory need to win 2 out of 3 IF not a total sweep of Red Sox.
Gausman, Manoah & Stripling better have their TOP tier / Grade A stuff absolutely!
GO JAYS GO!

Do they realize leading Tapia off means he may very well get the most PAs on the team today? Do they know?

Maybe JL was right. Maybe it was always Shatkins forcing Tapia. That's two managers now who are sticking him where he doesn't belong in the lineup.

Or maybe it was Schneider doing the lineups all along, which would be hardly surprising. Montoyo just a figurehead.
Dark times ahead if that is the case.

The worst part is if we win in spite of Tapia today, it'll only embolden the team to keep him in the leadoff role. I hate being a fan of this team.

Not really? He's thrown nearly 50 pitches in 2 innings. Not commanding the splitter where he needs to.

Tapia is hitting like .336 in his last 115 plate appearances. Over that span he’s hitting .347 with a .917 OPS and 157 wRC+ vs righties. I don’t see a problem with him leading off occasionally vs righties, if he’s hitting like this.

Small sample sizes aside, he's easily the worst hitter in this lineup right now. I think that would be the primary reason not to do it.

He’s been hotter than most of our hitters over the last two months.

Eovaldi literally pitching around Jansen to face our leadoff hitter. I wonder why that could be.
