Odd stat of the day: Bichette has the longest K-less streak on the team currently, at 20 PAs.

Maybe his trade value is increasing

Fangraphs rated him as the 21st-most valuable player by trade value in the majors as of the end of July.

Bases loaded and nothing to show for it. I'm sorry but this team does not deserve to make it to the playoffs.

He should be used for Defensive purposes only late in the game. He has been terrible all year. Not sure why the Jays even picked him up, when you had a guy like Zimmer already.

Great ovation for Manoah as he exits the game in Pittsburgh.

He may be worse offensively. But Tapia is a bad defensive player, while JBJ has always been a terrific defender.

Not sure Mayza even threw a strike there, but that works!

What kind of moron for a manager would want a Mayza matchup against a RHB in this spot given all the better choices anyway? He’s allowing a .810 OPS vs them this year.

Cruz straight-up can't hit lefties (he has a K rate well over 50% against them), and Castro's a switch-hitter with relatively neutral platoon splits. Totally fine with using Mayza there.

Maybe we can trade him in the off-season for a shortstop!

I think Castro is much better vs lefties than righties, from what I’m seeing.

I don’t know his minor league numbers.
