Seriously. Is this the best they could have done? Anthony Bass, Zach Pop, Mitch White and Whit Merrifield.

Can we also trade for Tampa Bay's management team please?

Blue Jays Total Payroll $174 million
Tampa Bays Total Payroll $91 million

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/

We've played like we have the lower payroll this series so far. SMH..

We better grab the next 2 games in Tampa. The Orioles are breathing down our necks right now.

We had the second-best record in baseball over the preceding three weeks. We then lost two games. Breathe.

And no, the Orioles are not 'breathing down our necks'. They're 4.5 games back with 11 games to play. Fangraphs gives us a 99.1% chance of making the playoffs.

He didn't go all in and trade for impact players (or at least players that were expected to be impact players) almost certainly due to the Braves' position at that time. Now Rosario ended up going full 1992 Pat Borders in the playoffs for them, but that doesn't change what AA actually did at that deadline.

In contrast, AA very much did go all-in with the 2015 Jays to great success. He just didn't get as lucky as in 2021.

Honestly, people severely overemphasize the importance of making big, splashy deadline moves in general. They certainly can make a difference, but they generally are not transformational.

Atlanta again didn't exactly push their chips in...their deadline consisted of Robbie Grossman, Jake Odorizzi and Raisel Iglesias, and Odorizzi has gotten rocked. The Padres had the biggest, craziest deadline arguably ever. Atlanta has been very good since; the Padres have been exceedingly mediocre.

After sleeping and re-evaulting I think my gripe has been they didn't do enough to address the pen or pitching depth in the offseason and that put a lot of emphasis on the deadline. Also the complete lack of any pitching depth organization wide isn't a secret.

This team is a really good team even with the very very recent struggles I'd put us 3rd and the Yankees 2nd half of the season isn't scaring me much (their deadline trades have been pretty poor too) Just annoying we have no arms that can spot start without essentially conceding the game. And we have to watch Kikuchi and White flail around to get through 3 innings. But I'll say this the end of the rotation sucking won't matter come playoff time so that's a bright spot.

Let's hope Manoah is not out of rhythm from the extra day ....

First 4 pitches were "balls" - thankfully one was fouled, and the ump gifted a called strike.

Whenever and under whatever circumstances this season ends, the best part of it being over will be no longer having to listen to Buck, Pat, and Arash.

I know people have tired of Jack, but I’m always 3 to 4 years behind the trend. (Some posters on this board might say 50 or 60.) Lol. But I still kind of like him. It’s a special brand of edutainment… lol As the colour guy he has some real knowledge and some real stories. Unlike tabby: “When we used to lose, we used to tell each other, let’s get them next time“ Thanks Tabby! “Ball Four” this telecast ain’t…

No way you call both that outside strike and that inside strike back to back.
