The gap between Vlad and Biggio is Grand Canyon-esque.

Only way Biggio can get a hit nowadays is with an Infield Single, like he did earlier in this game. Hard to believe there is nobody better right now that they can call up and give a shot, over this guy who has been terrible now for 3 years.

I think Biggio's one above average skill is his batting eye, but even there it doesn't help much because it leads him to not protect the plate as much as he should with two strikes. He would do better with robot umpires.

The biggest thing for Biggio is he needs to find a way to improve his bat speed. The swing is too big.

Option him to Buffalo where he can work on his weaknesses then. Good Batting Eye or not, the man has been awful this year at the plate, and pretty terrible the last 3 seasons overall. He is not a guy who should be taking up a roster spot right now. Glad he got a couple of Infield Singles in this game, but that should not change his status.

IF Vlad needs a stint on the IL, would it be a bad idea to give some kid in the minors a shot? Whether he deserves it or not, just give him a taste of the big leagues, and send him back down if he struggles.
