I turned the game off when the Yankees scored 2 runs in the top of the 11th, to take a 7-5 lead, thinking the Rockies squandered this game with the opportunities they had to win it in the previous innings. What a bad loss by New York, against a terrible team like Colorado. They need Judge to come back in the worst way.

What would we give up? I really don't want to see us trading away more prospects for a 32 year-old 1.5 year rental.

I agree. Stroman will be seeking big bucks this off-season on a long-term deal (around 25-30 million as a starting point). If I am trading any more prospects, I would rather acquire another high leverage reliever who will be under control for 2-3 seasons after this one.

We barely have the prospects to make a big trade trade in any instance. Two of our top three entering the season have been injured, and the other one has struggled...the cupboards aren't entirely bare, but we don't have an enormous surplus either.

I'd certainly take a reliever at the deadline, though I'd probably lean more toward a solid-to-good LHRP rather than spending big on another high-leverage guy. The back end of our 'pen has been very good despite Bass/Cimber flopping, especially if Chad Green returns healthy; we mostly need to hedge against injury/implosion.

Someone like Brent Suter would work, assuming his oblique injury isn't too serious. Elite power suppression, minimal career splits so you don't need to hide him against RHB, should be cheap as a rental MIRP.
