Biggio has no shot against any velocity. That would have been the time to pinch hit Belt.

This one might hurt more at the end of the Baltimore series.

Sure would have been nice to win that winnable game before getting swept by the Orioles again.

This one’s on the offense. Had plenty of chances to score.

It was a 3-2 count, and the ball was well off the plate. That wasn't on Springer.

It was a 2-2 count and it was just off the corner. Need to be swinging in that spot.

Nothing to show for it but that was some of the best AB's Springer has had in weeks.

You can’t be blaming Springer on not swinging at a pitch that is clearly off the plate. That’s on the ump

It was barely off the plate and a very good pitch. If you aren't protecting in that spot, you're risking exactly what happened.

Ope, right you are. I'd forgotten that he fouled off that high third pitch.

There isn't one. They just routinely like to give Biggio ABs in big spots.

not to say that it was the right decision but it was probably because it was the DH spot, and would force a non-1B to play first or a pitcher to hit in the event it went into the 11th.

A fly ball from Chapman in the 1st inning wins us that game. A team firing on all cylinders coming down the stretch run makes basic plays that score runs.

I'd also like to not see my 9th hitter swing at 3-1 to lead off the bottom of the ninth. Like, the point is, don't make an out at all costs. It's risky to even have to put the ball in play. There's 2 chances for ball4 to put you on base and you think it's a "hitting count" but you forgot the situation. And oh, btw, you're not Barry Bonds.

They also might have subbed in a RHB (Luplow) for Biggio and allowed Keirmaier to steal 3rd with 1 out in the 10th. We NEEDED that runner on 3rd with less than 2 out any way possible. That strike 3 looking call on Springer was BRUTAL and ended up being the whole ball game.

That probably was the reason but it is still a bad one considering it is extras. Either give up the DH or play Luplow at 1B (he’s played 18 games in MLB there).

Chapman has choked all season with RISP, but the thing I most regret that game was him not tagging up to advance to 3rd in a very obvious situation. Can’t make that mistake in a tie game there.

Hicks traded to the Jays so that’s one area dealt with. Now get a RH hitting OF.
