Springer shouldn’t be getting regular playing time at this point

This will go down as one of the worst FA signings in sports history. What has Springer offered since he got here? This was a baaaaad signing. The team owes this guy another $60 million.

Springer was great. Then he got old.

This franchise missed both his and their window.

I’m going to get myself a crazy jacket to put on every time I do what I’m expected to do at work. We may never score less than 9 runs again.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Springer wasn't great. He was often injured. Now he is old. This will go down as one of the worst most expensive FA signings in sports history.

It wasn't even the worst expensive FA signing of that year, let alone 'in sports history'.

You can say that a signing was ill-advised without being hyperbolic.

He had an OPS+ of 141 and 132 his first 2 years with the Jays.

Unfortunately the decline has been very rapid.

I would suggest going to look at his stats in 2021 and 2022.

He got old, it was just sooner than they hoped or expected.

Springer signed here because we gave him an extra year on his deal. Such is life... If you think this is the worst deal ever signed, you may want to reconsider your position.

Considering us writing off almost 40m for Tulo not so long ago, who knows how this one will go.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
