A very long time ago, I watched my first MLB game live at Comiskey Park - A's/White Sox - Wilbur Wood v Blue Moon Odom.

Residents were allowing parking on their lawns near the ballpark. My dad asked a guy "why should I park on your lawn and not in a parking lot?". The guy's answer was "because your car will still be here after the game!". We parked on his lawn.

In my viewm DFA'ing is sort of pointless given where we are at (we are not contending) - he would certainly get claimed by somebody.... due to his pedigree, his cost $2.8 million, and that he has slowly been turning it around with 5 scoreless appearances before today (with only 4 baserunners)

This season is going nowhere, we are likely going to be moving some veteran arms out of the pen. We will need some veterans to finish the season, which Swanson can do. If you are rebuilding, you hope Swanson turns it around this yea, you arbr him in the offseason, and then trade him next season for some limited value. If he doesn't turn it around, you don't offer him arbitration and he is let go... so nothing is lost from not DFA'ing him now.

the opposing starter was one of the worst in the league.

but even then.. how many times have we made bad opposing pitchers look good this season? too many times.

Like I said, they'll sweep the trash sox and everyone will be "we're contenders again!" Before the inevitable reality sets in again against the Orioles and Yankees.

Man these start times over the past few weeks have been brutal. We've had 11:35 AM stars, 2:10 PM starts, 3PM Starts, 6PM Starts now 7:40PM starts. Like wtf is this man?

He's a career .288 hitter. What the **** is wrong with this team? So many of our hitters are underperforming.

Varsho inching closer to offensive futility. That .205 BA sure looks great!

Dude is 39. Pretty rare for guys that age to mash post-PED era, he had to slow down eventually.
