Nice win for the Jays.

Normally I would have found an AppleTV stream to watch the game. Because I could care less about this team, I watched YouTube on my patio instead.

At least 35,000 paying fans went home happy.

Any chance Varsho will be inducted into the Hall of Fame while he’s still playing?

Varsho can be inducted in a special category- as the Most Valuable .200 hitter in baseball who also has an OPS below 700. Let's see how Randle's Top 5 MLB Catcher Kirk performs now the rest of the way, with his brilliant .611 OPS so far this year.

Moreno eclipsing him in every offensive category and having a tremendous month of July hitting wise but calls him a fraud; while lavishing praise on Fat Kirk who has been terrible since the second half of 2022.

Kirk is now #1 catcher. Hard times ahead.

Expect a randle post over vladdy’s error or Varshos 2-run homer.

The CGI fireworks after a home run on the broadcast was a bad decision.

Why are the seats behind home plate half empty so often?

Kirk has not been useful in two years, ever since the second half of 2022. If the Jays are serious about contending in 2025, Kirk cannot be your Starting Catcher. The Jays need to acquire a Starting Catcher in the off-season (either by trade or free agency).

I guess Guerreros hair was affecting his swing.

This is why the argument about lineup protection was bull. Good hitters hit no matter what, period.

the HR’s with runners on is a nice bonus but man, the dbacks FO must be beside themselves for trading this guy away for a terrible baserunning, defense-first catcher whose power would play in williamsport. what a fleecing.

Arizona is more than happy to have Moreno under control for 5 more years after this one, along with Gurriel in LF. Moreno is One of the better hitters in the NL in the month of July, and eclipsing Kirk in every offensive category. While Gurriel has been good the past two months, and has the same numbers of home runs and a higher OPS than Varsho. Arizona beat writer said two weeks ago that the Diamondbacks would not even trade Gurriel straight up for Mendoza Level Varsho.

For all of Varsho's power, light hitting Moreno has a higher OPS than Varsho (LOL). Arizona with the Fleece Job looking at atrocious .202 BA, .284 OBP, and .692 OPS. Nice that Varsho can hits the occasional home run, when he is absolutely trash offensively otherwise, and strikes out like a fool time after time.
