I have no clue why the Orioles would have pitched to Vlad in that situation in the seventh with first base open and two outs. They got away with it... barely.

They’re afraid of the Captain and his offensive surge, as they should be

I’m in Ottawa. The Jays game is on in every bar/restaraunt in Byward Market. Saw lots of Jays caps/shirts last few days.
These nationwide Jays fans deserve better.

Every hit by Kirk has got to be a dagger for some here.

He'll hold out for 10/400M the way he's going and the Jays won't even offer half that.

Team can definitely make a run now with MVP Varsho and Top 5 Catcher Kirk. Need to go 37-10 in their next 47 Games, to reach 90 Wins.
You said this team was capable of winning 90 Games back in April. No reason why the dynamic duo can not make it happen. Your prediction of 90 Wins for this team is definitely still possible.

Nothing could have been worse than the 2021 Jays Bullpen, but this bullpen takes the Prize. If this team has any aspirations of contending for anything in 2025, they need 4 new bullpen arms to be acquired in free agency or trade. Outside of Chad Green, you have pretty much nothing you can count on.

Sometimes I can't tell if you're joking or serious. He might be the best defensive player in all of baseball but if he wasn't this good defensively, he'd be toiling in AAA for the entirety of his career. That bat is not a major league bat. And before you throw all advanced stats out there to make a case for him as a hitter, those advanced stats haven't helped the Jays to a better record so I don't give a rats ass. It would be a travesty if we signed him to a long-term deal and let Vladdy walk.

You could just as easily say that if Vlad couldn't hit at all, he'd be one of the worst baseball players in the history of the professional game. What of it?
Every player has their strengths and weaknesses and Varsho's strength is that he's a generationally good defensive outfielder. The jury is out on whether that is the case with Vlad with the bat. I certainly wouldn't want to be the org making the $400M bet (and you can guarantee that will be Vlad's ask if he closes the season hitting like this) that you'll get the 2021 and 2024 versions of him going forward over the 2022 and 2023 versions.

Who cares how much Vladdy gets paid? It's not this organization can be trusted to re-use the money in a smart way. And ticket prices ain't coming down even if we entered a rebuild. So why should I care about how much Vladdy gets paid? Sign the man. At least he puts butts in the seats.
