I tune in to watch large chunks of the game for the first time in a few weeks, and this team was just as I remembered them (lol). Top 5 Catcher Kirk looking awful as usual. You are not going to compete anything in 2025, if this organization does not acquire another legitimate Starting Catcher in the off-season. Kirk can be a serviceable backup in 2025.

The man has been a disappointment offensively since the second half of 2022 overall. No clue why Varsho was leading off after his terrible performance, when he should be hitting 9th. At least Varsho is not hitting below .200 any more, and had a good 10 days in Mid August before his usual cool down recently. The Pitching tonight was the only bright spot.

Go back to not watching. We have a wildcard to chase.

How about reaching .500 first? Currently 5 games below .500. Wild Card is a pipe dream with 8.5 games back, and 4 teams in front of them. Keep up the optimism though. If it helps, I will tune out watching this garbage offensive team besides the hitting of Vlad until 2025.

I'm not letting this current team fool me. This FO has a lot of work cut out for them in the off-season. Like Mehar said, other than Vlad this offense is garbage. Let's see when Bo gets back into the lineup. Let's also give credit to Pablo Lopez. He's only given up 2ER in his last 4 starts.

You know everything is going your way when Kirk gets an infield hit,

Wagner could be the real deal. If the Buffalo guys can competently fill 2-3 spots next year, that would make the case for acquiring a big bat in free agency or trade.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Box Score was impressive. Just checked the Box Score and highlights. If it helps the team win the rest of the way, I will do my part and not tune in. Hopefully they do not lay an egg tomorrow.

As much as I have criticized this front office, I got to give them major credit for acquiring a guy like Wagner for a rental like Kikuchi. It is nice to see a Second Baseman that even in his small sample size, show signs that he can hit consistently.

That is unlike the past 4 years watching second baseman Scrubs on this team like Cavan Biggio (now on his 3rd team this year after signing a minor league deal with the Giants) looking at called Strike 3 pitches down the middle. That definitely frees up money for this team to shore up other areas, including another Starting Catcher as well and another big bat to protect Vlad.

The funny thing is, if the front office just cheap out and play the Buffalo guys instead of paying guys like IKF/Biggio/KK something like a combined 30 million dollars, we might be in the hunt for WC right now.
