Small ball, like bunts, sac flies, and singles, can only take you so far. This team must find a way to score more runs with RISP. Power is a concern again this season. Bo, Vladdy and Santander need to be better. Let's see what this 3 game away series will bring us and how this season will unfold.

This might be far fetched, but if I was Atkins right now I would make a call to J.D. Martinez and sign him. He will not cost much, and he would be a big upgrade over guys like Lukes and Roden. He would be a nice power bat off the bench to occasionally DH, play the occasional outfield, and Pinch Hit against Lefties even when Varsho comes back. He is staying ready and as of week ago, was rumoured to be possibly talking to the Mariners of joining them in the near future.
He might not be the Silver Slugger or All-Star he was years ago where he had seasons of hitting 43 Home Runs, batting .330, and having 130 RBI's with Boston. Two years ago, he still hit 33 Home Runs and had 103 RBI's with the Dodgers. Last year was a down year for him playing with the Mets, but after watching the horrific At Bats of guys like Roden and Lukes the past several days- Martinez would still be a big upgrade over these guys.

What's going on with Varsho? Has he had a setback? I remember him DHing in spring training, and he looked fine.
Varsho needs to come back so everyone gets bumped down one spot.

Daulton Varsho Injury: Moving rehab to Triple-A
Written by RotoWire Staff
Published on April 21, 2025
Varsho (shoulder) will move his rehab assignment from Single-A Dunedin to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Varsho went 0-for-6 with two strikeouts in two outings Single-A, but he's progressed enough in his recovery from right shoulder surgery in September to continue rehabbing in Triple-A. The 28-year-old outfielder will be evaluated by the Blue Jays later this week, and there's a chance he could be activated from the 10-day injured list during this weekend's series against the Yankees.

Strand a runner at 3rd with no out.
Toronto Blue Jays baseball at its finest.

apparently he doesn't have a strong arm but lets see future defensive plays.
also this offense has been pathetic to start the season.

Unclutch offense
They get a lot of hits, almost none of them timely

If Guerrero santander and bichette hit a few more home runs, our record is better overall. The lack of power is concerning right now

The lack of anything timely is a concern.

Is it just me or does Gausman never get run support whenever he pitches? I feel like he’d be lucky to get a 2 run support when he leaves

This feels like 2024 again. Vlad & Santander need to start hitting homers. This is seriously frustrating to watch.

That’ll do it. They can’t even manage hard contact off Brown.
