If things go well, the Jays could be tied with the Yankees for the AL East lead by the end of this series. If things go poorly, we could be in 5th.

Will our bats show up? Will our pitching keep up? Is Vlad going to love playing at Yankee Stadium again?

Lets find out.

Probable Pitchers:

April 25th - 7:05pm EDT

Jose Berrios 1-1, 5.02 ERA, 24 SO

vs

Carlos Carrasco 2-1, 6.53 ERA, 15 SO

April 26th - 1:05pm EDT

Kevin Gausman 2-2, 3.16 ERA, 26 SO

vs

Max Fried 4-0, 1.42 ERA, 30 SO

April 27th - 1:35pm EDT

Jays should be crushing Carrasco and Schmidt but I'm prepared to be disappointed

This series could bury us under .500 where we may not recover from. Same thing happened last season. We started off like 12-10 and then lost that series in KC and it went downhill from there.

They lost a game against Seattle that they had no business losing in April last year (thanks John Schneider) and then immediately went on a freefall that they never recovered from. Sound familiar?

I agree, and I see a similar scenario happening this year with this joke offense. That is why it made little sense to throw 500 million to a Singles Hitter like Vlad, and basically handcuff the franchise for 14 years. Aaron Judge is the guy we all hoped Vlad would be, but is not. Same thing with throwing 58 million over 5 years to a Turtle Catcher Kirk, who would have gotten nowhere near the money the Jays handed him next off-season given how pathetic he has been hitting wise since 2023.

This team should have traded Vlad after Soto signed with the Mets, and you could have gotten a great package of MLB ready talent and elite prospects based on the season Vlad had last year. People were praising the Gimenez move in this forum, but I said it at that time it made little sense to commit almost 100 million over 5 years to Gimenez who is the definition of a mediocre hitter. Throw that with the Santander contract, and no wonder you have a franchise with the 5th highest payroll in MLB and with a roster that is bottom tier courtesy of Atkins and Shapiro.

You think the Jays regret giving Santander that contract now? He's one of the worst hitters in baseball.

Every opposing pitcher is now licking their chops, wanting to face us. We have nobody that can hit. lol.

Vlad's defense almost cost us. Luckily Judge grounded out.

Kirk is elite defensively, best Jays catcher in that area ever.

Kirk with 2 throw outs in the same inning, and Jazz had a huge jump.

Too bad he has been dog **** with the bat and with his offensive numbers since 2023. It is funny you never criticize his pathetic hitting numbers, and garbage offensive production this Turtle provides on a regular basis.
