Might be time to put Yimi on the IL if he can’t actually get outs any longer

Garcia has lost it. What's this 3 games in a row of horrid pitching... maybe 4.

Put Kirk in for defense before this backup catcher costs us the game

No hits. Still not consistent and SO a lot. Nowhere near being an MVP.

Garcia struck someone out with a 99 mph heater last night, I think he will be just fine.
Also, Hoffman’s stuff was electric again last night. Both the slider and the change/split were both ridiculous.
Barger had an amazing game too, on both sides of the ball. Gimenez getting hurt may turn out to be a good thing if it what makes them play that tank every day.

How has gimenez defense been helping us win games this year

It hasn't, just like we got along just fine without Varsho's D for the first half of the season. Elite defense is a distant third in importance over pitching and hitting, but the FO and a portion of the fan base are absolutely convinced that dWAR is the critical path to contention, despite our failures year after years.
Elite D is great if the player can do other things well, but Gimenez needs to do more at the plate to be worth his playing time.

Straw is effectively a lesser Varsho without power, what an addition and trade.

Same way Varsho and Straw’s defense has: by saving runs.

It's been a really pleasant surprise. Earned his way onto the team in the Spring, and looks like he's ending up as a capable 4th outfielder. Changes of scenery help, it seems (or the kick-in-the-pants that is being traded for less than nothing).
