vs

To open the series followed by Berrios and Bassit for the Jays. The phillies counter with Abel and Luzardo fortunately they will miss Zach Wheeler as he will skip a start. This should be a good spot to keep momentum going.

So happy for Zach Wheeler and his family. Doubly plus because it means he'll skip visiting Toronto.

Still, this is going to be a tough series.

Stefanic should clear waivers easily, but I'm wondering if anybody might snatch up Sanchez on his way back down.

Both were terrible, especially Sanchez defensively as a Catcher. I doubt anyone claims them, but if they do- I wish them both the best but in their brief time here, they did not look like players who should take up two roster spots.

This is what a real contender looks like, yeah.

Bowden cannot pitch again in the Majors again, not for a while. His confidence must be totally destroyed, and he sucks

Such a painful and demoralizing way to start a massive series, suck out all the momentum

The Jays have been something like 9-4 in games I have seen the last 3 or 4years when I am in town and catch a game. Make it 9-5.

You don't have to worry about that when you're on a personal boycott of games for 2+ years now.

I'd rather see Max try to pitch left handed than watch another Bowden start lol

On the positive side, today can be another rest day for your high leverage bullpen guys who have been called on time after time to pitch with a small margin of error. Better luck tomorrow, and Bowden Francis's days of being in the Starting Rotation should be numbered.

Lauer was going to be their starter on Friday, so this loss probably doomed them in that one too.

Not good when you have 3 major league SPs in your entire active roster.

Ryan Yarbrough would look good right now for the Jays. Yankees wisely scooped him up for 2 million this year, while this organization let him go in order to keep Jacob Barnes and Lovelady. Both scrubs were then DFA a short time later. What a bad move at the time, which looks even worse now given how well Yarbrough has pitched in New York for the past two months.

The Yarborough thing continues to be puzzling. It didn’t make sense when it happened, and has looked more stupid everytime a new scrub has been called up in the starter/ long reliever role
