After a long NL odyssey, the Blue Jays return to American League competition facing off against the cellar-dwellers of the league in what could be an important weekend.

If everything breaks perfectly (a winning sweep, a Yankees losing streak, and at least one loss from Tampa) we could -somehow- be on top of the AL East by Monday morning. If things go badly, we could be out of the WC, second last in our division, and once again questioning our existence.

It'll probably be somewhere in between. Baseball is a grind.

They benched him today (as unserious teams do), so you won't be seeing that.

Imagine how overmatched Vladdy will be by fastballs in 5+ years.

Predictable start for Turnbull given how he did in AAA and lower. Not good.

With the White Sox playing a double header yesterday and then a bullpen game tonight, its important we get to their staff tonight, and hopefully early -- it would make the next two games easier if we can beat up their staff tonight.

Send Clase down too once Varsho comes back next week. I don't know what exactly it is the Jays think he is doing for them, but he's probably our worst CF option currently on the roster right now (certainly defensively but maybe offensively too) and dropped a very catchable ball earlier.

Well there is $1.3 million down the drain on Turnbull (his contract of 1.3 million was guaranteed).
Not my money, but I assume the team has some sort of general budget.

Even if we give up 10 tonight and lose, its important we get to their tired pitchers a bit too and soften them up for game 2 and game 3.

Can Clase give us an inning tonight on the mound. Looks like we might need it.
Flurharty might be done for the series.

Maybe Green can give us 50 pitches tonight.

Don’t forget that they decided that Yarbrough’s 2M was too much for them before the season, which led to an entire season of outings like this every week.

Bigger issue is we are going to have to use our high leverage guys in this blowout just to finish the game thanks to Turnbull (and Fluharty).

Straw must be pretty hurt not to be starting over Clase.

That double to Barger had a .170 xBA. At least 3 runs tonight due to poor outfield defense.
