I love baseball, BUT

Pitchers with elbow strains, arm injuries or batters with oblique, back and shoulder injuries I can understand...

But how the hell do you get a leg injury like a leg injury wihtout contact from a ball when you are a pitcher or a DH? Sitting on ur azz half the game???

How can someone be injury prone in baseball if you are not a pitcher, when a guy like Julio Franco is 48 and still playing injury free, or Barry Bonds is still crushing homers like he's 23. I think baseball is the biggest sham of a sport there is. Any sport that can have a 250 lbs guy go through a 3 hour game without breaking a sweat is not a sport.

Again, I love baseball, but when you are paid so much...you should at least try to play through the injury even though you are %98 healthy
I say this cuz Kevin Millwood is on my fantasy team and had his start pushed back cuz he hurt his leg.

the one thing i can think of is the fact that baseball is quick exertion of energy then stop. ex. you hit the ball go full blast then stand there, running the base's you go full out then stop.

I think the doing nothing inbetween inning might have a negative effect.

You don't know sh-t about baseball if you think there's no way to get injured while playing this game.

I got King Felix in 3 fantasy teams and I don't care if they pushed back his next start 3 times already...it's better than aggravating an injury and miss 2 or 3 months

OK seriously, baseball is a very complex series of movements. A tweak in your legs offsets the rest of your pitching motion. Bad knee or quad problem throws off your mechanics and you really need your mechanics in tune to 1)be fully effective and 2)to avoid injuries in your arm. There is a level of pain that you are able to play through and not incure further injury. It's case by case basis based upon the injury, the severity of the injury, and the player themselves. Some stuff you simply can't play through due to the future ramifications. mahalo

I think it probably is true that these guys don't take as much care of their bodies. In other sports, guys are all physical specimens. In baseball, a guy can be fat and still effectively hit a ball, or even field (with limited range) and throw.
