Burnett does Litsch one better
By Dave Perkins
Before we go any farther, notice the difference between manager John Gibbons each night. When Burnett walked Miguel Tejada with two out in the ninth, right at 100 pitches, Gibbons stayed nailed to the bench. A couple of minutes and yet another very sharp curveball later, Aubrey Huff was flailing for Burnett's 10th strikeout.

This is the same Gibbons who quite properly yanked Litsch with two out in the ninth of a 2-1 game. Sparky Anderson used to say it 30 years ago

So our whole roster gets hurt, and our trainers and conditioning coaches get extended? The exact opposite of the Yankees.

It's frustrating when "results" aren't what decisions are based on.
