The Toronto Blue Jays released starter John Thomson on Wednesday and reorganized their bullpen by sending down Lee Gronkiewicz and recalling Brian Wolfe.

Thomson never pitched for the Blue Jays after signing as a free agent on Jan. 9 for US$500,000 plus incentives.

The 33-year-old began the season on the disabled list with a sore right shoulder and was unable to work his way back up to the majors. In seven starts with triple-A Syracuse, he posted a 2-4 record with a 4.58 earned-run average.

Can't say I'm surprised by this move.....although I thought De Jong might be gone instead of Gronk.

JP's signings are sure looking good on him right about now.

Indeed.

One hopes this could lead to a regime change. I tire of JP. His "no guff" attitude (you know... the one full of guff?) is wearing thin as his moves begin to collectively backfire.
