The Toronto Blue Jays have signed RHP Kenny Rodriguez to a minor league contract. He will report to Dunedin (A) of the Florida State League.

Apparently in Cuba's highest league, he posted 72 K's in 75 innings. He's still only 22, so the potential may be there. Does anyone know anything about him?

Apology to the OP, just gonna hijack this thread for a moment....

but these kinds of things always raises questions to me.. how come most of these Latin players don't go through a draft? Doesn't it seem unfair, and teams can just sign anyone they want in those leagues?

Pitching talent can never be a bad thing to add to a squad.

That ERA is mildly unspectacular for a minor league but he's very young and he's going to a minor-league deal, so it's a good move.

If he sees our roster, ever, a cheap deal like that was a wise move.
