Blue Jays: Towers is coming off his best start of the season, tossing eight scoreless frames against the Indians in Toronto's final game before the break. He had a no-hitter in tact until Cleveland second baseman Josh Barfield singled to left with two outs in the top of the sixth. It was the first scoreless outing Towers has thrown since Aug. 12, 2005. He is 2-7 with a 4.62 ERA in 12 career appearances against the Yankees.
Yankees: Igawa makes his fourth start since being recalled from the Minor Leagues as he continues to try and prove his mechanics-related demotion made some impact. He has just been far too inconsistent in his first three efforts, allowing 11 earned runs in 16 innings. This will be his first career start against the Blue Jays.

Game 2

7:05 PM EST --- TSN
Blue Jays: In his last start, Halladay gave up five runs on eight hits over five innings in a loss to the Red Sox. The right-hander uncharacteristically threw 71 pitches over the first two frames and issued four walks, marking the most free passes he's allowed since walking five on May 21, 2004 -- also against Boston. Over Halladay's past four starts, he's gone 2-2 with a 6.85 ERA, and he's yielded exactly five runs in three of those outings. He's 9-4 with a 3.09 ERA in 23 career games against the Yankees.
Yankees: In his last start, Pettitte looked sharp early on the mound over his 5 2/3 innings. He threw two perfect frames to start the game and limited the Rays to just six hits. The first two runs that Pettitte allowed came on a double in the third and a sac fly in the fourth. Pettitte admitted afterward that he was still feeling a "little out of sync," but he didn't show it on the mound as he worked through a no-out bases-loaded jam with minimal damage for his first win in his past five starts.

Game 3

7:05 PM EST --- TSN
Blue Jays: Marcum is just 1-1 with a 6.19 ERA in three July outings. Then again, his numbers this month are skewed by the lapse he endured on July 7, when the young right-hander gave up eight runs in just 3 1/3 innings. In his last start, in Boston on Friday night, Marcum allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits with six strikeouts en route to a win. In his career against New York, he's 1-1 with a 5.47 ERA in seven games, going 0-1 with a 8.38 ERA in four outings at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees: Clemens endured his least effective start of the season in his previous outing against the Rays, needing 89 pitches (and throwing just 44 strikes) to get through 5 1/3 innings at Tropicana Field. The future Hall of Famer was rapped for five runs, five hits and four walks, striking out just two. Clemens will be facing the Blue Jays, one of his former clubs, for the first time this season.

Game 4

Blue Jays: McGowan has alternated wins and losses over his past six outings, which have been drastically inconsistent. In his past three victories, the young right-hander has posted a 0.82 ERA, allowing just two earned runs over 22 innings. In McGowan's past three losses, though, he's posted a 13.11 ERA, yielding 17 earned runs over just 11 2/3 frames. On Saturday, he gave up six runs and a career-high three home runs in five-plus innings of a loss to the Red Sox. In his career against the Yankees, McGowan is 1-0 with a 4.60 ERA in six games.
Yankees: Wang has won seven straight decisions coming into this start, overcoming a shaky three-run first inning in his last effort before settling in to hold the Rays to seven hits over six frames. Over his past 12 starts, Wang has logged nine victories and just one loss to go along with two no-decisions. He'll be seeing the Blue Jays for the first time this season and is 6-3 with a 2.83 ERA in nine starts at Yankee Stadium.
