Jays Pitching... (Towers/Burnett/Chacin)

Towers has been pitching reasonably well, lately. That one game against the Yanks was obviously crap... 6 runs in like 5 innings was definitely bad but two of his last three starts have been outstanding.

Also, apparently Burnett threw off a mound today, which is reassuring. He's gonna do a few more 'pen sessions, then a simulated game, then a rehab game in the minors, so he's weeks away still. Projected timetable is three or four weeks, which means he'll probably around for late August/early September.

Chacin is apparently doing some rehab in Dunedin, too, so he might be back in a couple of weeks, which is a reasonably interesting. I don't like Chacin but a healthy Chacin is eminently more tradeable than an injured Chacin. And he doesn't always suck.

Every time Towers is on the mound, I miss Chacin.

Towers like said is doing well, we gotta ride it out...honestly though, with Chacin, i do not think he is anything special, i would rather have Litch, McGowan and Janssen starting over him.....

supposing AJ Burnett opts out i would puit out a rotation like this:

Halladay
????
McGowan
Janssen
Litch

If AJ does opt out, i'm just assuming we'll have a bit of cash to spend and using that i'd sign a good proven #2 starter, thatd give us a young and possibly very good and potent staff. Assuming and hoping our offense will finally get it together i think we'd be quite good.

that'd be my offseason plan :P

btw....anyone know exactly how much moolah we'll have next year to spend and who some key FA's are?

Towers is just doing what he did a couple of years ago, performing well because he's in a contract season.

As for Chacin, he hasn't done anything as a Jay.. he's very inconsistent, wouldn't mind packaging him out, if he fills a need.
