Guess they had someone come into to town and watch him pitch Saturday and leave that night/Sunday morning.
What could we possibly get? I imagine its incredibly far fetched to do something like Towers+Reed or Towers+Lind for Victorino?

The Jays should try to get rid of him while he's pitching good. Even at his best, he's still doesn't guarantee a solid start.

Strong words from JP today on this:
"We're not going to trade Josh Towers for a bag of donuts. I've got to get something back who is a very good player for us to say, 'Hey, we can hang our hat on this guy.' I don't need somebody who's going to come to the big leagues right away, but I'm also committed to winning as many games as I can here and Josh gives us that opportunity."
Now, personally, I WOULD trade him for donuts.

I second this notion. It's jelly donuts or bust, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd take almost anything for him, but I'll bet we could package him with Reed for at least a decent young player.

But what if some of the players don't like jelly donuts? The end result could be disastrous

He's a 5-6 pitcher with excellent SO/Walk ratio and an under 5.00 ERA, who is in the last year of a contract that will pay him 2.9 mil. Some of you are totally over-reacting.
So are we getting our money's worth from the likes of Burnett, Ryan, Wells, Thomas, etc...?? Josh Towers is not the problem with the Toronto Blue Jays and trading his for spare parts, or even donuts, is just plain stupid, as he's obviously at least the 4th best starting pitcher we have on this team at this point in time.

completely agree with Kelso, I think people can't get past last season's debacle. In actuality, he's not a horrible pitcher at the back end of a rotation and has pretty good value currently.

If J.P. turns down ANYTHING for Towers he is an idiot. Im so sick of his attachment to certain players, hes supposed to be buy low sell high yet hes the complete opposite.
The Jays arent making the playoffs this year,Towers sucks and is gone at the end of the year, why not get SOMETHING for him!
Sheesh, the guy gives away Chad Gaudin yet hes attached to Josh Towers...
