The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed pitcher Mike Gosling and shortstop Pedro Lopez off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.

Gosling is a 27 year old lefty whom used in the 'pen last season, while Lopez is a 23 year old shortstop...played in 16 games in the bigs last year.

They're interesting.

Gosling was 5-3, with a 3.00 ERA, and 1.21 WHIP in 78 innings with 65 K.

He's 27, however.

Lopez looks decent.

He had a line of .284/.346/.368. He has no power, but he did hit 10 homers in less than 500 at bats in 2006. He was signed really young and seems to have lost his speed. But, judging by his 2007 season in AAA, he seems to be picking up on things. He's striking out at the same rate, but he's garnering more walks.
