Mitchell Report Discussion

2PM EST press conference Thursday on The Score
I am admittedly a bit antsy for this - I think its a real big deal especially given the stature of some of the names said to be mentioned (former MVPs and All Stars). Remember, too, that they are limited on when testing began and when the CBA was signed protecting the privacy of tests, was it 2002ish? 80 names mentioned is the number being told, that is a big number for a short time period.
I just hope Ken Griffey, Jr. isnt a name that gets mentioned, because he is my all-time favourite and that would likely drastically change the way I look at him.

I am looking for any player who seems to have done well later in their career. Mat Stairs now. Greg Myers from before. There are those guys who looked like bodybuilders. Gabe Kapler.
It's interesting because it's a lot of names that don't surprise you. Juan Gonzalez was awesome in the 90's, but he's there. Pitchers will be interesting, too, because we don't know how to tell if a pitcher is juiced.

Roger Clemens is in the report. Ouch.
I hope the report is more than just names. I want to know if guys were injecting each other, and if maybe coaches knew what was going on.

It will be interesting how this will affect the hall of fame votes. People said they would not vote for Bonds because he took them , so the same should apply to Clemens.

Yup very good point. Wouldnt it be interesting if Bonds wasnt on the report at all?
Clemens is a bit of a surprise - its not like his body has stayed in prestine condition all these years.

Don't be surprised by these pitchers. It's not about muscular bodies. It's about recovering faster between starts.
I'll tell you what's interesting. Barry Bonds only became the centre of all this because BALCO happened to get raided and BALCO names came out.
What if 5 years ago, the operation that got raided was something to do with Yankees taking the juice? All these years later, people could be raving about Bonds and his record, and maybe Roger Clemens would be at the centre of it all?
People have suggested Bonds gets a bad rap because he's black. In truth, it's probably because no one likes him. But Clemens?? 7 Cy Youngs. Wow! If he doesn't get ripped, something's wrong.
As Jim Rome said, Mark Ecko needs to buy a Roger Clemens baseball and have an online vote to mark it with an asterisk.

Edit: Just deleting this list as not to confuse people. Looks like a few of the names are wrong and it's also missing some others.

Guys, read page 168, the area with Clemens. He began steroids when he met Canseco in Toronto. He was juiced for his double, triple-crowns!!!!

Zaun ordered them while he was still with the Royals.

Yeah, but look at the recent bodybuilding version of Zaun we've had in Toronto.

So what are the implications of this "list"? Does Selig put faith in the credibility of this Mitchell Report and hand out suspensions?

Albert Pujols, Cleamons, Pettite, Nomar, Mo Vaughn, Prior, Wood and Nixon are all crazy ones!
and Glaus, Zaun and Howie Clark? any suprise that they all sucked last year?

it doesn't matter what Selig does now. What matters is that anyone who watched baseball in the 90's got jobbed. Every good player, practically, is named. Not Ken Griffey. And I have a HUGE new respect for Frank Thomas.
But boy, go down the list. It's crazy. Denny Neagle?? Anyone who was once good, it seems. Especially anyone who came out of nowhere.
And who's to say this list is complete.

He isnt. He was on a fake list that was circulating over the web earlier.

Where did you get this list? I read the Mitchell Report and can't find a bunch of those people on your list?
K. I found this
http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... chell.html
It says Albert Pujols was only rumored but confirmed not. In other words, your list is not accurate.
