This is being played at disney world, at the spring training home for the Atlanta Braves. Widely regarded as the best spring training facility out there. However I am not sure why they are playing here... but that's atleast the scoop behind it...

Also being that there isn't any game thread, again this is a terriable lineup. We need to make a move because this team as it's constructed presently is heading for a battle of the basement. Who would have thought our offense and not pitching would become the problem over the years with this jays team...

goddam this team sucks so much. I mean so much.

6-7-8-9= Barajas, Zaun, Diaz, Inglett...

That's f'ing terriable.

Even with Rolen back and Rios in the lineup we need a substantial upgrade. 1-0 this game on a stairs solo home run, and outside of solo home runs, or the opposing team walking the bases loaded, followed by a wild pitch or something, we'll never score, it's pathetic.

But 4 guys are missing from the lineup. Rios, Rolen, Overbay and (soon to be DH) Lind and that will leave Zaun/Barajas batting 9th and splitting the catching duties. IMO, that does constitute a substantial upgrade on the horizon. The only thing missing will be a platoon partner for Overbay but I could see Scutaro getting some of those AB's.

Now if we only had a manager smart enough to impliment it all properly? :-?

I know, and I was thinking about that as I was writing that post. I know there is some help on the way, but even with all those guys, I'd still like to see 1 more bat added. Incase lind falls off, or somebody get's injured... I don't know who that guy is, I just don't feel comfortable that all those guys will stay healthy and produce. Rolen certainly isn't any gurantee. On lind I'm optimistic he'll be a good fit at DH, but I'd like some insurance on that.

I hate watching the game being played in that stadium... just feels so low budget and leisurely. Some of the camera anlges are pretty bad as well. On the other hand tropicana field is depressing as well.

This is a message I got from somebody on another board.

They've done it the past couple of years, to try to expand the TV market to the Orlando/FL Eastcoast market. The Rays used to hold spring training there and the old Orlando Rays minor league team played there.

They're also pushing for a new outdoor stadium in downtown St.Pete so they're pumping the outdoor atmosphere angle to the locals here.
