[rant]This new RealGM is really pissing me off, it's impossible to post images!!!!!!!![/rant]
So I apologize for the extremely BLAND game thread, but here it is.....
Friday July 25 - Sunday July 27
SEATTLE MARINERS
@
TORONTO BLUE JAYS
At the Rogers Centre.
So the Jays begin a 3 game series against the worst team in the AL (just took a peek at the standings, wow @ Kansas City Royals are ahead of the Indians!).
The Jays are coming off a great series against the Orioles, taking 3 games out of 4. Only allowed 2 runs in the final two games, so hoping the pitching can pick up where they left off.
In the opener, we have left John Parrish (1-0; 4.50) up against our good old friend, former closer/starter/middle reliever Miguel Batista (4-11; 6.89). Wow those are BRUTAL numbers for Batista!
Even though the Mariners are not doing well, the Blue Jays are only 2-4 against them this season. Sooooooo let's sweep their asses boys.....
The Jays have been somewhat "hot" as of late, winning 9 of their last 13 games, all 13 games against division rivals (granted, 6 six of those wins were against the Orioles lol)

We need to sweep this series to have any chance this season IMO.
Can we start AJ and Roy every game from now on??

Nice comeback!!
Let's keep this momentum and confidence going! Anything is possible.
Sucks to be a Seattle fan. What's up with Ichiro?? He didn't show up for the game at all today. Just didn't look like he was into it at all.

For some reason I knew Inglett was going to get a basehit against Lowe. Inglett is a very good fastball hitter, and he got one he smoked over Ichiro's head. We had chances to put this game away earlier in the game. This was our game to win, or lose and thankfully we won.

i think that's a liner I expected Ichiro to catch... maybe his eyes got caught in the lights? That certainly wouldn't be the first time that's happened

After a close game last night, the Jays hope to continue their win streak.
They have David Purcey coming in

Let's go get 'em!

Another win!
Good to see Purcey get his first win, and pitch well albeit against a brutal Seattle team.
Let's go for the sweep tomorrow! and bring on the Devil Rays. wooooooooo!
Jays 18-12 under Cito. Even if the team finishes strong and misses the playoffs, I still want JP to go. . He hired the wrong manager to manage this team. No MLB experience = no chance to win, and make a run for the playoffs.

yeah.. even after JP is gone, I REALLY want Cito and the current staff to stay.. not to mention, our scouts, they have done a good job with the draft offlate as well..

Purcey was pretty solid; 99 pitches at 3.7 per hitter (16.5/inning) is manageable, if not good, and he walked just the one batter.
Meanwhile, The Saga of Rios continues to baffle...he had one home run between May 2nd and July 19th (a total of 284 plate appearances), and four in his last seven games. Again, if there's one saving grace with Rios, it's that he is having an awful season by all -- of our -- accounts, but I'd expect him to finish the season with an OPS in at least the .770-.800 range (low-average for a corner outfielder), close to 40 steals at a rate well above the break-even mark, and excellent defense when he's not asleep. Being a 6'5", right-handed Ichiro isn't exactly what we're paying him for, but it's not the worst thing in the world...so long as it isn't permanent.

Schadenfreude your thoughts on Inglett platooning left field. I'd rather have him in the lineup and playing outfield than Wilkerson. I also like him leading off. He reminds me a lot of Reed Johnson, with his hustle and play.
What will happen once Wells and Stewart come back?
and you are right.. Rios continues to baffle. If he can only pull it together and play with confidence, this guy could be great to watch.

I think Rios is just having a one-off bad season, he'll turn it around. I really hope Hill comes back healthy asap and stays healthy without any effects of the concussion for the rest of his career.
A core of Rios-Hill-Wells-Lind with up and coming bats of Snider and Arecibia, we could have a real good batting lineup in a couple of year's time.
But for this season, the way guys are batting at the moment, I would not bring Stewart back in the lineup except for when giving Matt Stairs a day off. I think guys like Scutaro and Inglett have done a good job filling in the utility man role and I'd like to keep it that way. Assuming Wells and Stewart come back, my lineup would be (in no particular order):
Inglett / Scutaro
Rios
Wells
Rolen
Stairs
Scotaro / Ecks / Johnny Mac
Lind
Overbay
Barajas

I don't want Inglett platooning in LF, but that's because I want Cito to use Lind against lefties full-time; his ability to keep his front side quiet against left-handed pitching has impressed me, and the usual concerns about harming his confidence by hanging him out to dry ring false in his case. Inglett is what he is...a low-power, low-K player who is more than serviceable as a middle infielder, but whose bat doesn't play long-term as a corner outfielder (Reed had much more power, and his ability to lean into pitches drove up his OBP).

Wow, we won 2 games in the series thus far!
Today's game is a 1:07 start, we have Shaun Marcum (5-4; 3.05) up against Jarrod Washburn (4-9; 4.75).
Let's go get 'em!!!

K I'm puzzled. You have a man on second with a leadoff double with nobody out. Mcdonald comes to the plate and flies out, Eickstein pops out (what a suprise!) and the same with Rios. Why not sacrifice a bunt to move Mench to 3rd and try to score a run that way?? I don't get it.

yeah seriously, at that point, we shoudl've sacrificed the man to 3rd
