Yankees making moves. What are the Jays going to do?

The Yankees are close to acquiring Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners. They acquired Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte from Pittsburgh the other day, for pretty much close to nothing. A steal of a trade for the Yankees btw.

The Yankees look good right now, and are on a serious roll. Have won 8 in a row. I see them winning the division.

Will the Jays do anything to keep pace?

Agreed, even though we've won 4 or 5 straight, we're behind the Yanks, BoSox, and even the Rays. I say we have a fire sale with Burnett the first to go.

And that trade wasn't a steal for the Yanks, Jose Tabata is a very good prospect.

I don't know guys. I think there should be some urgency from JP and management to make a run this year. Yes we are behind 3 teams in our division, but there's also the wild card. We are 6.5 games behind in the wild card race. I know it's going to be difficult to catch up, but it's possible. I think this team needs another move or 2 to contend. With Wells coming back, we need another solid starting pitcher and a bat imo.

If we are selling I would like to see the following players moved.

Overbay. He has had a disappointing season this year. I was expecting him to bounce back from last year's effort. Maybe a change of scenery would be good for him. What happened to all those doubles??

Eickstein. He's just not the Eickstein of old. His .270 avg doesn't help either. Far below his .309 avg from last year, and career .285 hitting.

Burnett. He would fetch us the most on the market. He can get us some good prospects in return. He has also hinted that he wouldn't mind playing for another team.

Who would you like to see moved by the trade deadline?

There is only one player Jays can get that can help them do something. Mark Teixeira, he is available and would help us a lot. Although even then it probably would be enough, but maybe we can trade and sign him. And yeah, i know im dreaming and we will never get him.

I have to agree with that list. Also, I'd add Stairs to the list because I don't know how much he could possibly have left in the tank after this season.
