Optimism growing for Jays (Double Play Blog)

It's early in the season, and there is already a growing stream of optimism surrounding the Toronto Blue Jays and their unexpected 6-2 start.

Unlike last season, the Jays are actually getting it done at the plate, which is good, because their pitching staff hasn't been as lights out as they were last season, and like the old commercial states, "chicks dig the longball".

Eight games into a 162 game schedule isn't really a big sample size, but the club must be thrilled at the progression of Adam Lind and Travis Snider so far.

Lind is leading the club in most offensive categories with three home runs, 12 RBI and a .400 batting average heading into Tuesday night's game.

Snider hit two home runs on Monday night in Minnesota to increase his RBI total to five.

Not to familiar with many blogs either, but a friend of mine does have a blog which is part of thescore.com's 'sports federation' - http://www.sportsandthecity.com/
There's frequent Jays blog entries on there

The "Drunk Jays Fans" is also part of thescore.com's federation^

The TSN blog entry was a good read though

I'll definitely second Drunk Jays Fans.

The Tao of Steib, Ghostrunner on First and The Mockingbird are all nails, too.

Too negative for you, MT?

Oddly enough, Griffin, a former Expos executive, is a basketball guy too. He even wrote a Raptors story a few week ago. I think he's a really good writer, and what, I'm supposed to like JP?

I usually check out battersbox.ca. They're a pretentious lot, but all real baseball hardcore fans are anyway.

Griffin isn't a bad writer. He just isn't so good at this baseball thing we keep talking about. You know, the thing he covers for a living. But if he's good with basketball, that's great. Maybe he could stick with that, then?

And are you excited by this year's team? If so, then yeah, you kind of should like JP, given the number of his guys on it.
