Nothing earth shattering. What if indeed Buster, what if indeed.

nick (Toronto): hey Buster, do you think the blue jays young pitchers can hold up?

SportsNation Buster Olney: (3:22 PM ET ) Nick -- my instinct is to say no -- and probably yours is, too -- but heck, they're scoring a ton of runs and their lineup is legit. But wow, consider all the players they've lost in the last eight months -- McGowan, Marcum, Litsch. It's interesting to play a game of 'what-if' with their pitching injuries -- what if the Jays had McGowan and Marcum, to go along with Halladay and Romero?

Thomas (Toronto): Hi Buster. I don't see any way the Jays can maintain (or even come close to maintaining) their amazing start, but can you see any way that they can stay in the race come September, assuming the key parts stay healthy, of course.

SportsNation Buster Olney: (3:23 PM ET ) Thomas -- I just can't see it lasting, with the youngsters they're having to rely on. We'll see. Great to see Aaron Hill bounce back from his concussion.

I'm just throwing this in here since I grabbed it from ESPN also
A breif mention from "Reality or Illusion?" by Jayson Stark

B.J. Ryan (2 saves, 1 blown save, 7.71 ERA, 4 2/3 IP, 11 baserunners) -- REALITY: Ryan has been great for a long time, but he's into the David Copperfield stage of his career. And scouts who have followed him don't think he can trick those hitters for long. "His funkiness is no longer funky," one scout said. "His power stuff has no power. And everything is flat." Another scout speculates that Ryan has to be a physical wreck. "They say he's healthy, but he looks like his shoulder is killing him. He was terrible all spring, and he's kept right on that track. He throws his slider all the time because he knows he can't throw his fastball over the plate. And when he does, it's like batting practice."

nothing earth shattering from his responses... pretty much took the safe road, saying we can't rely too much on youth.. etc.. but at least we're getting more attention

good old buster.

what 'if' our rotation was.

Halladay
Burnett
McGowan
Marcum
Romero

I bet you everybody would be pee'ing their pants right now. We'd be scary.... I hate how it always works out this way. Last year we have the best pitching in the league and our offense absolutely stinks. This year, our offense is raking, and our pitching outside of doc is extremely questionable.

Jesse Litsch couldn't even be the #2 starter for the Nationals, y'know what I'm sayin?
