He has oppenents batting a career .300 against him with over 6.00 ERA. Isn't there some young buck Riccardi could of called up instead?

You know he can't be very good if he got cut by the Baltimore Orioles rotation, one of the worst in baseball.

We have Mills and Cecil, but apparently we don't want to rush them, so we're stuck with this clown.

It says on the Blue Jays site that Brett Cecil starts on Saturday. But I think he started in AAA like last night. So I don't know what to think.

But it would be rough for a young kid to come up for a spot start, get hit around, then go back down. Supposedly, who knows.

Burres was the worst starter in the major leagues last season. It's almost as if they are trying to lose.

Maybe the Jays know more about their pitchers than fans.

A young pitcher should be promoted from a position of strength - he should know the organization wants to bring him up and not that they have to bring him up.
Calling up a young guy as an 'emergency solution' does nothing for his confidence and puts way to much pressure on the kid.
Bring in Cecil or Mills once they are rolling and the big club has a more stable starting situation.
Everyone, including Burres, knows he's not the longterm solution.

The way the offense is hitting, his 6.00 era might hold up for a W.

Clement retired after he didn't earn a big league roster spot. The Jays had told him he's likely be the first call up in case of injury but, he said his heart wasn't into it.

Ah, I see. I guess he didn't know Jays starters usually get injured within a few days.

I think we should of called up Fabio Castro even though he is in AA.

Shouldn't every borderline major leaguer want to play for our minor league team in Vegas? That should be an advantage.
