Kevin Millar, a 37-year-old veteran of 11 Major League seasons, has been an everyday player for most of his career. In the first few months of his stint with the Blue Jays, however, Millar has been called upon to play a part-time role.

Millar, who became a free agent when his contract with the Orioles expired after last season, signed a Minor League contract with the Toronto in February and made the big league club out of Spring Training. A right-handed hitter, he has been sharing the duties at first base with the left-handed-hitting Lyle Overbay.

"I've been an everyday player for the last nine or 10 years," Millar said, "and it's a different role to basically attack.

"At times there's been five, six days gone by where you haven't started a game, and it gets a little frustrating, but I think [Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston] has done a good job of making sure it doesn't go a whole lot longer than that."

It sort of sucks for him, but it's definitely helping the team out tons. He's been a very good contributer along with Bautista.
