"The Most Exciting Prodigy Since Lebron" - Bryce Harper

Wow,

came across this article and this kid is really impressive.

Here's a quote:

"Still only 16, Harper stands 6'3", weighs 205 pounds, has faster bat speed than Mark McGwire in his prime and runs so fast that he scored on wild pitches six times this season from second base. As a catcher he picks off runners from his knees, and when he pitches, he throws a fastball that has been clocked at 96 mph."

I was really impressed by the video in this link. It has some footage of him hitting absolute bombs in a home run derby @ tropicana. Worth the watch.

apparently they're already callin this kid the chosen one!

First of all, I don't care how good he is, it's stupid to call a 16 year old a hall of famer.

That being said he does sound like a crazy talent. The thing to keep in mind though is that pretty soon he's going to have to specialize. Presumably with that heater they'll try to make him a pitcher first, which would largely mitigate those other tools. Maybe he'll end up in the NL though.
