You are right that Janssen needs to start producing in his next couple starts, but they won't bring Cecil back up.
First, because they really do need to limit his innings; second, because you don't want to treat your number 2 prospect like a yo-yo; and third, Litsch is due back soon, and they need somewhere for him to go anyway.

Cecil as a July recall would be nice. Janssen just needs to get his pitches into the bottom third and to stop leaving crap over the middle. He's shown before that he can do this, so hopefully he'll settle down.

I have a bad feeling about this.
We never really play well against Texas,
+ They're playing really well right now.
I'd be ecstatic with a split.

I still think Janssen would be more serviceable coming out from the bullpen as a reliever, and not as a starter.

If he can locate down, then he's got enough to be a pretty good pitch-to-contact pitcher and a good 4th or 5th starter... maybe better, depending on how well he can firm up his control. Otherwise, yeah, he'd be a good reliever. I think part of it is that he is really first hitting the majors now after an injury/rehab layoff. He was fine in 2006 and really good in 2007 out of the 'pen. If we're giving Scottie a chance, we have to do the same for Casey.

Cecil will be back in a few months at the latest.
This matchup sets up very poorly for us, I'm not exactly sure how we'll manage to split this series. Texas' offense is great, and all 4 of our other starters have been struggling lately.

Cecil needs to spend a season/half-season in the majors coming out as middle/long relief for a while and get worked up to starter status slowly, IMO, giving him short starts along the way. Hell, pair him and Romero together, let them try and combine for 6, 7 innings and see how that works out.

Lyle DimaggiOverbay has his streak up to 13 games now. We'll need all the bats to be hot for this one and we'll probably see some high scoring games.

This certianly looks like a tough series for Toronto. Texas' offense is always going to be there, but all of a sudden they're tied with the Yanks for first in the AL.

If we win one game in this series I would be surprised. Janssen, Tallet, Richmond, and Romero pitching in that ballpark to that offense is going to be scary.
Split the series and get the hell out of Texas as quick as possible. That is the best case in my book.

Luckily, their staff isn't exactly the '93 Braves, either. Hopefully we can take one of the first three, followed by Derek Holland out-sucking Scott Richmond in the finale.

Yeah, thanks. Wrote them up at work earlier, only to lose them to the Internet Monster. This was the second attempt.
Adam Lind makes my face do happy things.
