OT: Votto's stress-related issues

"It was taking the time away from baseball and recovering from being sick was when the first time all my emotions I had been pushing to the side, that I had been dealing with and really struggling with on a daily basis in the winter, they all hit me. And they hit me 100 times harder than I had been dealing with all off-season."

Pretty compelling stuff. He was so good last season even though he was dealing with these issues for the last 3rd of the year. Hopefully now that he's recovered he can keep improving.

Yeah they did a piece on him on SportsCenter, and it was quite a sad story..... I'm glad he's back, and i hope he finds great success..

It's easy to make light of mental disorders like anxiety and depression from the way it's portrayed in media, but stories like Joey's emphasize just how severe and frightening they can be.

Let's go Votto! Help get my fantasy team back on top!!! :D

Crazy how he was dealing with all this stuff and still be able to bat .350+

until it happens to you, its not a easy problem to have. mostly irrational thoughts but it can feel like they are anything but that.
