Every team will say they called the Blue Jays, it looks good to their fan base that they are after the best.

Well, the LA Times is speculating something along these lines ...
A deal for Halladay would probably cost the Angels pitcher Jered Weaver, a top pitching prospect such as Trevor Reckling or Jordan Walden, top hitting prospect Brandon Wood and a young big leaguer such as Erick Aybar or Howie Kendrick.

That seems like a lot!

A Wood/Aybar/Hill/Unknown infield would look pretty darn good for the future.

It'll take a lot to move Halladay.

It is a lot.

But you are getting one of the best pitchers in the game.

I'll take Weaver, Walden, Wood and Aybar.

Maybe a few years ago it would.

Wood looks like a lost cause...he mashes in a hitters park in a hitters league against minor league pitching but has had absolutely no success at the major league level. The Angels clearly dont even think much of him. A change of scenery could help, but he's a guy that hacks at everything and gets destroyed by major league breaking balls. Looks a lot like Jeff Francoeur.

Aybar, same thing almost but at least he's made it to the majors as a full-time player. The bat is completely average, and its not like he draws walks and gets on base either. His defense hasn't been groundbreaking either.

The three teams I'd like to see us try to make a deal with-

1. Texas Rangers

Chris Davis, Justin Smoak, Derrick Holland, Elvis Andrus, Teagarden, Neftali Feliz

They have a ton of interesting prospects. Give me a deal of Davis, Neftali Feliz and Smoak and I'd pull the trigger. I wonder if Halladay would agree to go to the Rangers with that ballpark.

2. St. Louis Cardinals

Colby Rasmus/Brett Wallace

I'd imagine the Cardinals will be interested in upgrading there pitching and a package centered around Rasmus and two good pitching prospects would look good.

3. Chicago White Sox

Gordon Beckham

They have already attempted to deal for Peavy and Oswalt. Im sure they will still be in the mix for a frontline starter. Beckham is prolly my favorite prospect in the entire league. Give us him and a pitching prospect.

I'd be on that 1st Rangers deal in a second. Acquiring all three of those guys would be worth it. But yeah, with their current ownership problems I doubt they do anything.

Is Teagarden still regarded as a good prospect? He's the backup right now, and to me it doesn't reflect well on the guy when you trade Mark Texeira to bring in another guy at the same position.
