Anyone else still get chills when they hear the "touch 'em all, Joe!" call?

"You'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!"

The "touch-em all" part was natural, because I think Carter may have missed running over a base. But the next line is the one that got me. It actually spoke to me. Basically, I may never see what I'm seeing again, in my life. It was so many things....

1. Jays winning a World Series.
2. Winning it on Canadian soil.
3. Winning on a homerun.
4. Winning two in a freakin row!!!!

I'm not old enough to remember our glory days but i listen to Tom Cheek's call and that Joe Carter video all the time, makes me feel depressed how few of those moments we have in Toronto Sports.

As good as those teams were...and they were good.....for those that don't remember, those teams were not locks by any stretch. It was tough enough to get by the Athletics and Twins and ChiSox. Every game you were on pins and needles. In the 80's we were bred to always follow the team that would lose out in the end (last weekend of the 87 season...). To finally win was amazing. To do it a second year in a row...with a very different team....just unbelievable.
