I've never taken too much solace in the "spoiler" role, but with Boston a game back of the WC I these games have a bit more meaning than they otherwise would.

Am I the only one not particularly enthused about Jamie Campbell's "why didn't this kid get his chance earlier!?" pumping of a guy twice busted for steroid use, given his typical moralizing? Or is it more likely that he doesn't know?

Ruiz and Snider both with the Blue Jays only runs in the game.

This is why I can't stand the TV commentators. The radio guys are way better.

Also Snider just homered.

Heh, I wish I'd taken a screenshot of Millar and sitting on either side of Doc, having a conversation...while Doc sits motionless in the middle, staring forward intensely.

Anthopolous is on the fan talking about the unsigned draft picks. His story is that the money was there, but that they simply thought that the players' demands were too high, and because of this they were never particularly close on deals.

Eww, Romero got roughed up and we continue to be batting practice for David Ortiz as he rebuilds himself. Ellsbury seems to be hurting us, too. Nice to see Snider playing well, though, that's for sure.

Lind and Hill, too. They appear to be the core of our offense going forward (durr, and we breathe AIR, too!!!). Actually, our offense seems to be clicking, it's like the 6th and we have 5 runs already. Now if it can catch up and our relief can continue to be good (but Carlson, meh...)...

Sure...just noble work by the braintrust holding down league-wide bonuses. Even if all three were asking for, on average, double their slot, we're talking a difference of less than $2m overall between their demands and the league's recommendations...and if the Jays were putting money on the table (and they had to be; they knew what they were in for) the difference between the Jays' offers and the agents' wishes amount to a rounding error compared to the team's overall budget. I just don't buy this as a baseball ops decision.

Tie game! Awesome. Rod comes through. I'm tracking by box score, so that was a huge moment.

I love that we chased Beckett. Carlson got through it, which was nice. Janssen looking good. Fun game, even if it's messy.

I don't know why Cito even plays turds like Jennsen and Tallet. The guy absolutely needs to stop playing favorites. Jennsen, Carlson, Millar, Bautista, Eccarnicion and Tallet are HORRIBLE.

Every time I turn away more runs are scored. This is a real slugfest.
