USA Today's Bob Nightengale has heard whispers that Pat Gillick could return to the Blue Jays.
"The hottest rumor among baseball scouts is that Pat Gillick will be returning to Toronto to become president of the club, but not GM," Nightengale wrote on his Twitter page.
Gillick guided Toronto to a pair of World Series titles in 1992 and 1993 as general manager. He was also a part of Philadelphia's World Series victory last fall.

That would be good, if we have the budget to help him work.

If this happens you've got to wonder how much direct control he would have over player transactions. There would certainly be plenty of speculation about his GM being a puppet.
I was under the impression however that Beeston is looking for a stadium/business guy to squeeze more money out of the Skydome.

Safe to say JP isn't a "Gillick-guy"?
