Cito Shocked At Players Turning On His Back

Cito Gaston seemed shocked by the revelation that he was on the verge of losing his clubhouse. The Blue Jays' manager sat inside the visitors' dugout at Camden Yards on Friday, feeling blindsided by fast-spreading news that his players were not content.
"I'd really like to know what I need to change," Gaston said. "That would be interesting. I'd like to hear it myself."
After multiple reports about unrest within the Blue Jays' clubhouse leaked on Friday morning, a group of Toronto's players made it known that they plan on calling a meeting to address issues that have developed throughout this frustrating season. According to more than a handful of players, Gaston is at the heart of the growing friction.
Considering that the Blue Jays' season ends on Sunday in Baltimore, the team meeting is expected to take place within the next few days. Paul Beeston, the Blue Jays' interim president and CEO, plans on joining the team on Saturday, and general manager J.P. Ricciardi is also with the club for its final series of the season.
Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells said that there is a definite problem within the clubhouse and the situation needs to be addressed soon, especially if Gaston is to return as manager in 2010 for the final year of his contract.
"There are issues, obviously," Wells said. "If something of that magnitude comes out, obviously there's some truth behind what comes up. It's tough for something like that to be stirred up and completely be fabricated. I think some of the issues that go on need to stay in here and be taken care of as a group.
"That's something that will obviously play itself out over these next three days and over the course of the offseason."

I would rather get rid of the whole team over Cito.
Cito should be allowed to retire on his terms. I don't want to see him let go.

Someone should tell Wells that the problem in the clubhouse is his massive talent-sucking (in terms of the limited talent that can now be signed) contract he signed.

players being angry at cito and riccardi getting fired the day after seems unlikely to me. if i was a regular player on the jays i would like cito a lot. he never loses confidence in anyone when everyone else has.

You know what it's like to play under Cito Gaston? How?

as a fan, i want cito fired. this team isnt pretty to watch. id rather see a team that steals more and manufactures runs better but if i was a regualr player for the jays it would be great, you never have to worry about showing up to the park off the starting lineup and you never get replaced late in the game, and you can be a cleanup hitter even if yourthe guy on the team having the worst season.
its like a holiday for any underacheiver. you dont get punished for it with this guy, you can get promoted before you get benched.

Sorry Ozzy, but this is ****' loopy. They always say no player is bigger the team, well the same thing is especially true of managers. You'd rather dump Hill & Lind than Cito? That's crazy. Cito deserves respect and love from the fans and the team for his earlier success, but you can't put him above the success of the team because he did a good job 16 years ago. It's crazy.

Only player who seems like who has problem with Cito is Wells.
Others like Rolen, Ryan, Rios were shipped out before the season. I wonder who else is pissed @ him besides Wells.
I agree Cito has to be removed from managing the team.

And Hill, Halladay, and Overbay seemed to indicate there was a problem.
