Dopirak added to the 40-man roster

I'm pretty sure that he's not Rule-V eligible until next year; if they added him to the roster at this point in the winter without it being out of a fear of losing him, it would seem to suggest that he goes into Spring Training with a pretty good shot at making the club.
And the Jays continued to scour the waiver wires, grabbing 28 year old Mike McCoy from Colorado. McCoy is basically a not-particularly-good version of Chone Figgins...last year, he played every position save for catcher and first base (yes, he pitched an inning), ringing up a .307/.405/.400 line with 40 stolen bases in 46 attempts. For those who care about such things, his PCL stats translated to the majors would have been .237/.328/.311. A good pick-up, as the versatility would come in handy if the Jays decide to carry an extra slugging slug.
