Jose Calderon - What now?

I know it's only been a couple of games but Jack has shown that he can ball, off the bench and as a starter. We all know Jack has that killer instinct Jose doesn't have, and we're kinda better off without him. What could we do with Jose?

    Move him to the bench
    Trade him
    Keep him as a starter

Just want to know your thoughts and don't worry I've heard stuff like "LOL 8 Mill backup on the bench" and "too soon". The problem is if trade, who would want him?

You won't get much for him in a trade, I say we just move him to the bench, That seems to be what his body is best suited too anyways.

Listen enough of the redundant threads, when Calderon comes back and it doesnt seem imminent, then he'll be eased into the rotation, and then we can decide if he should be our back up, or starter. Hes not going to be traded, and if he is its going to be at a diminished value. Welcome to RealGM, weve discussed this to death.

HOSE briefly deserved a starting role during the 06/07 season... Dude is not tough, like for example, Steve Nash, and the more games Calderon has played since that season as a starter, the more obvious it became HE ISN'T a starting PG in the NBA...... This is one of Colangelo's screwups, just like his stubborn decision to have a Bargnani/Bosh frontcourt... Its too late to trade Calderon, as it won't fetch anyone substantial that can help this team.

Only hope for BC is packaging Calderon with one of Bosh or Bargnani to a team that is desperate for a PG AND a PF, otherwise be prepared to handle GUT-WRENCHLINGLY BAD D, and OFFENSIVE CREATIVITY OF A BRAINDEAD MONKEY for years to come..

Well I dunno. Jose was never supposed to be a starter in the first place. He's shown he can't handle a starting position long term, with 2 major injuries in the last two years in his groin/hip area. In hindsight, TJ's spinal issues would've been less of a concern. Jose's a perfect backup for 15-20 minutes a night, but with that huge contract I think it'll be better to trade him away.

Jack will not shoot like Jose, but its the other stuff that has made me like his game so much. He has leadership capabilities, looking to push the ball and control the temp, always communicating on defense, and is a tough SOB on the court.

But this is only based on his 14-15 games. Last year he was playing for a contract, and I don't give too much consideration on those years. I wanna see consistency, but all in all he's someone I'd prefer starting on this team.

i would trade him if we could get anything half decent in return, but that's unlikely

i would go with off the bench because defense aside he is still a good player

Jack has started 2 games. One the Toronto offense looked all out of sorts. The second they looked better.

Not exactly a good enough track record to get rid of your starting PG.

Trade, please. I'd take a 2nd rounder and the cap relief

We are in the same situation we were in two years ago...THE BACKUP IS BETTER THAN THE STARTER PT .2 lol.

A mod needs to make a Jack vs. Jose sticky, pronto.

Trust me NO BODY was finding it laughable when they suggested that Ford had to be an $8 Million backup, why cant Calderon be the same?
