OT: Dunleavy Won't Discuss Camby Trade Rumor-Bring him bak?

Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy won't confirm or deny trade rumors involving big man Marcus Camby.

A recent report claimed that various teams where interested in Camby, who is owed $9.1 million in the final season of his deal.

"Marcus has been great," Dunleavy said. "We have a lot of guys that have a lot of interest from a lot of people."

Camby is averaging 8.4 points, 11 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game this season.

Any thoughts on getting him back? I know hes older and injury prone but he will bring a defensive edge as well as rebounding which we desperately need. Im pretty sure they can package a deal around Jose to bring in Camby + fillers since Jack seems to be doing well in the starting lineup.

This move makes more cap space next season when Camby comes off the books and is an insurance policy if Bosh walks in 2010 because he can start at C with bargs at PF. OR he can be the starting C if Bosh is sign + traded with Bargs again at PF. OR if Bargs is moved and Bosh is kept we can have a front court on Bosh+Camby.

Thoughts?

It would be sweet to have him back there blocking shots, when was the last time we had a C who grabbed 11 boards a game? Camby for Punani...***let the flaming begin***

I think Bargs has greater value then Camby does right now, offensively. Bargs coming around on the defensive side as well and a lot younger with more upside then Camby. But, that expiring contract from Camby is enticing. I wouldn't do it straight up trade though.

P.S
Should this be in the Trading Broad?

Calderon for Camby.

Let's at least be realistic:

-Why would the Clips want Calderon?
-Why would we want Banks as our primary back-up?

Bargnani and POB for Camby and Jordan

Jordan a big young Texas center, develop him while Camby starts

The point of my post was that it wasn't realistic, Clippers would never do that trade but if they were idiots enough to do it, hey more power to me and my insane ideas.

Firstly I was saying Jose for Camby not Bargs for Camby. Those would just be the main players, we can acquire a backup PG maybe by adding a 3rd team. It was just a rough proposal use your imaginations. I wouldn't be surprised to see Baron get hurt again then they would love to have Jose. If not then there trading a starting caliber C who will come off the bench for a starting caliber PG who will come off the bench.

Good start, but I think Clippers need to throw in a first round pick or so.

Realistically though, besides Calderon we have nothing to offer them. Maybe if we make a package for Baron and Camby... like Calderon+Johnson+Weems+Banks

well the trade actually doesn't work, its like 500k off

what does work though is adding Banks and Butler.....meaning the Raps would get out of Bank's contract a year early. That would be added value to the Raps

Bargs, POB, Banks for Camby, Jordan and Butler

i look at the trade scenarios and i think that Camby is intruiging for a few reasons.
one, we can use his D skills. i think the team would be a scary team with him as C.
second, we can really use his expirings. him and Banks. think of the cap room.
then we could officially say FU to the Bosh to Miami talk and welcome Wade to Toronto talks.

pspot do you really want to give up Bargnani for a 34 year old Camby and a question mark in Jordan?

I'm confused with your post. Banks doesn't expire until next offseason.

no not at all, Bargs is my favourite player on the team. For the numbers he's putting up this year I think its amazing how often he gets **** on and for that I'm just sick of of hearing him be the goat. Would rather the Raps be winning and Bargs be successful elsewhere.

If this is Bosh's team then just move ahead with that and enough excuses.

Camby's the most overrated defensive player in the league. How does a DPOY's team get significantly better defensively after he leaves?

how abt camby + telfair for calderon + wright + POB?
works on trade checker, we get a way cheaper backup at the PG position
Camby will have a reduced role once blake griffin comes and and proves hez the $hit, altho this will mess up their plan for 2010, if they think they have a shot @ lebron

Seriously, LAC does not want $22+ million tied up in their point guard spot. I know they're trying to deal Baron, but he's up there with his buddy Elton Brand as the most untradeable player in the league.

Any imaginary deal we make for Camby won't involve Calderon.

It would be nice to think before posting ... we already have so many people at that spot.
