Roberto Alomar: what happened to HIV accusations?

You guys remember the Star article from 1-2 years ago where Alomar's former girlfriend (or wife?) said he haid HIV, was foaming at the mouth and had HIV-related sores all over his face?

Since then, Roberto's been at a few Jays' games, shown on TV for the all-star voting and has been a little more in the public eye.

Just wondering if this claim was shown to be a false claim (Alomar denied the accuracy of her claim)

CBSSports.com wire reports

NEW YORK -- Roberto Alomar and his ex-girlfriend have apparently settled her lawsuit claiming he made her have unprotected sex even though he had AIDS.

Ilya Dall had sued Alomar in Brooklyn federal court in February for $15 million. Her allegations that he demanded sex without a condom despite showing signs of HIV were never corroborated.

An order from a judge on Tuesday said a settlement was reached. Alomar's attorney, Charles Bach, said Dall voluntarily withdrew the suit, but wouldn't say if his client paid Dall any money. Her lawyer had no comment.

Alomar spent 17 years with seven teams in Major League Baseball and is regarded as one of the game's great second basemen. He has said that he is "in very good health."

This is the last I heard of it. Seems she might have been making it up... unless he paid her bazillions to keep it all quiet. It does seem odd he never specifically said he doesn't have HIV. You could easily say that (so far) Magic Johnson is "in very good health." Here's hoping none of this is true.

He either paid her under the table and burried it or she was making it all up.
