from the mets

for

Schneider & Church.

Milledge is a nice young player. Passionate. The rumors of being a troubled player seem to me, exagerated. Has some pop in his bat and some speed. Young player, never played more than 1/3rd of a season, so it's hard to say how he'll hold up over a whole year. But you might have won this trade. Mets fans are mixed on it.

I LOVE this deal. I am glad the Nats made a somewhat big move. Milledge will develop into a superstar. I'm glad the Nats were able to pull this off.

I haven't followed Milledge but I hear he's highly coveted by a lot of teams around baseball. That being said, Schneider was a good defensive catcher, but horrible with the bat, and Church was our 4th outfielder.

So basically they have Milledge and Mo Pena in the outfield, with right field yet to be filled.

Excellent deal.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!

I think the Nats won this deal but he wont become a "superstar" like Arenas4Three said.

I think it's a pretty good trade, although Lastings Milledge has a lot to prove. Church is better than a lot of people think, though. Good OBP skills, lots of doubles. It's not a stretch to say his HR totals are going to go up playing away from RFK.

He sucks against left handed pitching though.

BTW, rumor is Elijah Dukes is about to get traded to the Nationals.
