Pitchers

Shawn Hill, RHP (1-2, 2.89) @ Scott Olsen, LHP (2-1, 6.92)
Scouting Report:
Nationals: Hill has been the team's top starter this year, despite his 1-2 record. The young right-hander has allowed just earned six runs in 18 2/3 innings. Last time out he stymied a potent Mets lineup, giving up two runs in seven innings, while striking out five. Hill will face the Marlins for the second time this season. On April 3, Hill gave up two earned runs in five innings against them.
Marlins: Rising walk totals have hurt Olsen. The 23-year-old lefty has walked 12 in 13 innings this season. In his last outing, Olsen was lifted after 2 2/3 innings at Atlanta, giving up five runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. The left-hander's 2 2/3-inning stint was his briefest start since also lasting 2 2/3 innings at Philadelphia on Sept. 23, 2006. Olsen beat the Nationals on April 3, his first start, giving up two runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Matt Chico, LHP (1-1, 5.27) @ Anibal Sanchez, RHP (1-0, 4.32)

Scouting Report:
Nationals: In his last start, Chico ended up pitching five solid innings, plus two batters in the sixth inning, and gave up one run on four hits against the Braves. He walked five batters and didn't record a strikeout. For his effort, Chico won his first Major League game. On Saturday, he will face the Marlins for the second time this season. On April 4, Chico gave up six runs in four innings against them, but the Nationals won the game, 7-6.
Marlins: Sanchez tied a career high with six walks in his last start Monday night at Houston, but limited the damage and allowed only one earned run in five innings in a game the Marlins lost in the ninth. Sanchez has thrown more pitches in each of his first three starts, but fewer strikes, and while he's allowed only four earned runs in his last 11 innings, he's had trouble getting ahead in counts. Sanchez is 2-0 with a 3.23 ERA in five career appearances against the Nationals.

Jerome Williams, RHP (0-3, 5.63) @ Sergio Mitre, RHP (0-2, 3.97)

Scouting Report:
Nationals: The Nationals were not pleased that Williams lost his temper on the mound and told the media that he lost confidence after giving up four runs in five innings during a 6-4 loss to the Braves on Tuesday night. In the middle of the game, manager Manny Acta took Williams to the side and told him not to show his anger after making a mistake. Both Acta and pitching coach Randy St. Claire said that Williams used a poor choice of words when he said that he lost confidence. Williams, according to St. Claire, should have said he is trying too hard to show that he belongs in the big leagues and perform the way he did with the Giants in 2003, his rookie season.
Marlins: A skin tear to his right middle finger caused Mitre to cut short his previous start after just 13 pitches, 10 of which were for strikes at Houston. Mitre was lifted after one-third of an inning for precautionary reasons. He is getting treatments with ointments, and he is optimistic of being ready. In 11 1/3 innings, Mitre has struck out nine while walking four, one intentional.

Nationals could have had 7 or 8 wins by now if they can just keep a lead. Cordero blew another save.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.
