Nats sign Dunn

Post#1 » by Jollay » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:46 pm

Don't have details but obviously a good signing. Now'll be interesting to see where he fits in--but looking at it from a pure lineup standpoint, Dunn and Zimmerman is a nice base to build on.

Looks like at least a respectable product next year; should be enough to bring me out a few times.

Dunn's monster shots might kill a few on the concourse also; well worth the price of admission.

Don't know the $ yet but considering Abreu's low price, the Nats may have gotten a steal...

Apparently 2 years, 20 million--not a steal, but certainly acceptable. Surprised they didn't go more than that, but perhaps Dunn wants a chance to break the bank 2 years from now when the economy is perhaps better and he puts up some numbers.

Don't know if the Nats lineup has enough protection though--if he hits 4 with Zimmerman 3 he might shatter records for walks, though...
