NEW PITCHER GIVES ALL OUR LIVES MEANING (Bucs at Nats)

Post#1 » by Jollay » Tue Jun 8, 2010 11:02 am

Tonight. I'll be giving updates from the Park on 106.7 THE FAN starting about 6:30. Hope to get to the Park earlier and also find Bryce Harper visiting as well.

The Pirates are a great team for Strasburg to make his debut against. They rank near the bottom in most major offensive categories. Really nothing much to worry about except for the occasional bomb from the middle of their lineup and the talented Andrew McCutchen at the top.

If anyone cares Ryan Church is DTD for them with a virus. Only batting .202 though, anyway. It will be nice to see him and a few other ex-Nats tonight. Especially since Washington got rid of most of them for a good reason.

Pudge is back to catch. Craig Stammen was indeed the odd man out in the rotation with the annointed one's arrival.

I'm still trying to see my other ticket but I will be there. It's going to be insane and I'm hoping the walk-up window won't be full but I'm not holding my breath. I think about 42,000 people will be in there.

I was a Christian. Still am I think.

But all I want to do now is run around DC in my Strasburg jersey and either show my genitals (to women) or beat people into Strasburg awareness (to men).

Strasburg is having a very different affect on people. Peace and love mainly. But mainly violence and dominance. Also.

This post made no sense. But who are you to really understand Strasburg? I thought not.

PS-WHEN SCOTT OLSEN PRETENDED TO TOWEL OFF STRASBURG AND THEN PIED HIM AGAIN, THAT WAS REALLY FUNNY!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so things are pretty much back to normal around here.

The Pirates have a nice little debut of their own tonight. Brad Lincoln, their number one pick in 2006 (4th overall) makes his first major league start tonight. He's a big right hander who has been very good, although not dominant, at AAA this year. He doesn't have as many pitches as Mike Leake or Strasburg, but he's got a very good breaking ball and can throw fairly hard (mid-90's).

John Lannan goes for the Nats. They'd love to keep the momentum going but the crowd will be bad tonight because of the weather. And because its a non-Strasburg weekday game against the Pirates.

Not much else to say about the debut. I was in a private suite, and we were all just amazed at the kid's stuff. I never saw him touch 100 though. I saw just about every pitch sans 5 or 6 and the highest I saw him go was 99.

I'm going to buy a ticket to the White Sox game. Riggs said he's pitching every FIVE DAYS which would put his next home start on June 18th, barring any rain delays. I think I'll buy a $10 ticket to be on the safe side.

The gun on the scoreboard said 100 MPH once. Can't remember when it was but I believe it was around the third or fourth inning.

It's a tough thing, counting ahead even with the basic five-day rule. That game will be crazy though; perhaps even Obama will return as he's a White Sox fan.

We'll definitely know after his next start because you can bet that will be Riggleman's first question he'll have to answer.

Nats overcome some shoddy defense/play early to win 7-5. Storen gets the win and then Clippard/Capps close it out.

Bernadina had three hits and made a few nice defensive plays; he's clearly the player of the game.

Finale today!

Nats get the sweep. Adam Dunn homers in every game in the series.

Maybe Obama can name a player this time.
