Apparently GQ did an article on it.

He really is. It's not even his homer-style--I can get over that and alot of announcers are like that. It's that it's always about him. He has to give analogies from his playing days for everything--if you go to a Q&A session with a National player or executive he'll spin a personal story on the mike while he asks questions. It's supremely annoying.
He was at a Nats' function for season ticket holders giving autographs in place of Adam Dunn, who was late, a couple of weeks ago.
On his cell phone while he signed for kids. Annoying.

I used to listen to him periodically when he was on the dan Patrick show.
What a boring show......
I'm watching the Dodgers and Padres right now, and Vin Scully, while sounding old.......is still the ultimate artist as a broadcaster. He works the booth alone and just talks about things relevant to the game being played.
What a crown jewel of baseball......I'd advise everyone to take the opportunity to listen to VC while they can, as this is his final season behind the mike.
Dibble and other babblers should take in his broadcasts as well, they'd learn something about how the flow of the game should be.

Basketball is driven by three principles:
1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Carpenter is just as bad. The whole MASN crew is actually. From Jim Hunter to Bob Carpenter. Too many homers.
Return to Washington Nationals
