Nats at Indians

Post#1 » by Jollay » Fri Jun 11, 2010 11:26 pm

First use of the DH for the Nats this year. Willie Harris starts in left while Hammer mans the DH. Harris has looked silly pinch-hitting of late, maybe more work will help him.

Dunn is crushing the ball of late. Adam Kennedy is starting at second and has already muffed two balls (just one error). He has been a waste of space lately.

Atilano is against Jake Westbrook in Game 1. Nice to see Manny Acta and Austin Kearns again. Kearns just hit a three run homer against Atilano. He is actually good now for some reason.

BTW, if Kennedy hadn't muffed two balls in the inning, Kearns never even gets up.

Nats down 3-1 early (Dunn RBI double).

Austin Kearns' second homerun of the night--Indians lead 4-1 in the fourth.

Game 1 a loss, 7-2. Morgan, Dunn, and Pudge go 6-9, the rest of the team 1-21.

JD Martin goes against Fausto Carmona Saturday in what could be his last start at the big league level. Strasburg goes Sunday against it really doesn't matter.

Game is on TNT.

I will be bouncing around the Rays, World Cup, the race, and the Nats.

And, I've got to bbq as well......

Nice. Had no idea. First fairly crowded game the Indians have had in a while. Alot of people have been figuring what Strasburg's arrival will mean to the Nats (1.5 million last Tuesday by some accounts), but I wonder what it means to MLB in general?

Nats need this one badly.

Enjoy your Q Craig!!!

Tough road series that gets tougher when they go to Detroit.

BTW, odds that Strasburg pitches on Friday? Has that been answered yet?

According to the guys on MASN, Strasburg will pitch every five days regardless of the day off.

In theory, that would mean Strasburg Friday and I would guess Olsen off the DL Saturday.

Not a bad outing today for Strasburg, although he through alot of balls. Thought he relied on his breaking ball a little too much. Nats still get a 9-4 win and salvage the series. Adam Dunn is swinging a red-hot bat right now.

But I should add that I don't trust the Nats at all. They'll make it ambigious as long as possible to drive ticket sales both nights.

He's pitching Friday. It was announced by Tim Brandt. Kinda sucks for FOX b/c they picked up the Saturday game and JD Martin is scheduled to start.

So in theory we can pencil in every five days regardless of off days until the break. But believe me, the Nats are in no hurry to let us know for sure. They're content to keep us in the dark
and have people guess wrong and buy tickets for other days.

Although I have season tickets it makes it hard for me to know which ones to sell and for how much

HA!

I can see it now:

Jollay: Selling this ticket for X game.

Potential Buyer: Yeah? Who's pitching?

Jollay: ....

Potential Buyer: Well?

Jollay: Miguel Batista.

Potential Buyer: See ya.

Pretty much. Literally got three emails the other day (by coincidence I suppose) asking about July 3rd. Now by my reckoning, that's on the five day schedule. I don't suppose people all the sudden woke up and panicked about what they're doing the day before the 4th?

I basically am going to go face for most non-Strasburg, two to three times the face if not, except for friends.

Funny I seem to have alot more of those (friends) all the sudden...
